The cables for vibrating wire instruments are designed considering several factors depending on site requirements. The cable for this application should have superior conductor like copper, steel etc. The cables should be water proof, heavy duty and proper wire mesh to withstand the external load. Since VW instruments are installed in inaccessible locations where replacement and rectification is not possible, the life of instruments is dependant of cable and hence cable should of best quality. All general purpose cables cannot be used for this application.
