VW Strain Gauges are designed to weld, paste, embedment in soil or concrete for strain monitoring in steel/concrete structures and consists of vibrating wire element anchored at each end. Loading of the structures changes the length of the tube and results in changes in the tension of the wire. An electromagnet is used to pluck the tensioned wire and measure the frequency of the vibration.
