‘V’ Notch is used to monitor the flow of water in open channel, canal etc. The V notches are available in different angles like 30 degree, 60 degree and 90 degree. The most commonly used V notch is 90 degree because of simple in calculation of water flow. The V notch is made of steel plate and gradually marked on it for water flow indication based on calculation of water discharge.
